Kayaking with Lanette
Tuesday May 8 paddle Shell Creek Ft Myers
8:30 am meet at the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp the ramp just before the Sanibel causeway There is the typical $5 parking fee for parking The paddle is rated easy If we have time and weather permitting we may paddle to Fisherman's Key which is jus a hop skip and jump across the channel If you can call me 443-0097 if you will be there Thanks
Friday May 11 Paddle
to Mound Key
Launch from the Lovers Key boat ramp Go down
to Ft Myers beach keep going till you get to Lovers
Key state park The public ramp is on the Lt side of the road
If you cross New pass bridge and the dog park you have gone too far We
will meet there at 8 am It is a 5 mile round trip
paddle Mound Key is beautiful for those that have not been
there It is part of Koreshan State park. We can beach our
kayaks in the inlet and hike to the top of the two mounds. There is a
beautiful view of Estero bay We will be back at the ramp by noon
Again if you think you can go call me 443-0097 This paddle
it easy to intermediate depending on the weather If it is too windy to
paddle to the Key we will paddle around and about Lovers Key.
Tuesday May 15 Paddle
Ceitus tunnel off Burnt Store road
Launch 9 am at the Burnt Store boat ramp just
north of Pine Island road on the left we will paddle to the
tunnel and hopefully if it is open fully we can go thru I
will try to check this out before but if we can't there are gobs of
other places right there to paddle and we will have a great old time We
will be back at the dock by 12 noon This tunnel is a natural breakaway
many of you might have gone thru before it is a beautiful neat
paddle which can sometimes be a challenge as at times the current can go
thru there fast I must be honest and warn you that there is a
large possibility of seeing some of our friendly reptile friends there .
We... as usual just paddle on by This paddle is very hard to rate
but could be easy to intermediate depending on the currents. Call
443-0097

________________
Hope as many of you as can will be able to join me on one or all of the
paddles I know that during the week is not good for everyone If
anyone has any questions or concerns please call .. If anyone
wants to help me lead one of the paddles let me know. In June
I am hoping that we can have a self rescue clinic If anyone is
interested let me know Also I don't know about anyone else
I haven't gone out specifically to work on stroke improvement
but I plan on doing that also this summer It really helps as a
group to work on our strokes to make our paddling easier and less stressful
and therefore we have more fun as we don't have to work as hard
Hope to see ya soon
